Human Resource Development Masterclass is the podcast series from the Academy of Human Resource Development, the organization that leads HRD through research. The series explores the fundamentals of HRD and how those are changing in the workplace of the 2020s. The first four seasons have explored 44 different aspects of HRD and featured 110+ leading authors, scholars and researchers from around the globe. Seasons 1 and 2 focused on the foundations of HRD. Season 3 then considered the relationship between HRD and other disciplines, subjects, and topics. Season 4, releasing August to October 2023, explores trends in organizations and society and the implications for HRD.

About The Host
Darren Short has 31 years of experience building and managing HRD functions in the private, non-profit, and public sectors in both North America and Europe, and was President of the Academy of Human Resource Development from 2012-2014. Darren’s writing and editing includes journal monographs on research-to-practice and the role of the scholar-practitioner. He has presented at over 20 international conferences on topics ranging from leadership development to virtual learning, and has been the recipient of the HRD International Journal article of the year, the AHRD Excellence in Scholarly Practice Award for his work on training through virtual reality, and the AHRD Forward Award for his work on podcasting.
